CFUW’s Written Statement for UNCSW63

November 1, 2018 - Ahead of its participation to the 63rd session of the United Nations Commission of the Status of Women in 2019, CFUW submitted a written statement called “Promoting Gender Equality through Quality Public Education Systems and Services”. The statement focuses on tackling the systemic barriers in accessing education for women and girls and ensuring safe and non-discriminatory learning environments. CFUW Releases "Women in Universities: 25 years later"

Ottawa, September 17, 2018 - The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is releasing its report "Women in Universities: 25 years later".

In 1992, CFUW undertook a "Survey of the Status of Female Faculty and Students at Canadian Universities" in order to determine the status of women in these institutions of higher learning. Twenty-five years later, with the desire to document the changes occurred, CFUW volunteers conducted a replica study titled "Women in Universities: 25 Years later".

Pre-Budget Brief: A Focus on Economic Justice for Women

August 9, 2018 – Federal Budget 2019 needs to strengthen initiatives to achieve economic justice for women. On August 3, CFUW submitted a brief to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance ahead of the 2019 budget. The brief highlights the need for bolder commitments and targeted policies to end violence against women, ensure access to universal child care, close the gender pay gap and ensure safe and adequate housing.
